Film Making Workshop
In this one-of-a-kind workshop at Tent Cinema learn the nuts and bolts of film-making from start to finish: conceptualize an idea and bring it alive on the page through a screenplay, cast, audition, act, direct, edit, score music, and CREATE your very own short film in five days.
Theoretical and practical aspects of film-making sing together in this unique workshop designed to introduce to film making. We have a special line up of members from the film industry to make this an exciting and memorable five days! Editors and camerapersons from the film or television industry will help shoot and edit the film. Participants will be introduced to the latest version of FCP, the most current editing software used in the industry. A host of fresh, vibrant actors from Tent Cinema’s school of acting will be available for you to cast and audition in the film. By the end of the workshop, students will have experienced all aspects of film-making: they will have directed a short film.
This workshop is designed not only to introduce one to the film, but also to help each one explore their passion for the various opportunities cinema provides. They will grasp the roles and responsibilities of the different departments within film: direction, camera and lighting, art direction, sound, editing, costume design, music, and so on. While some of them might like to direct, others with a more artistic bent of mind might be attracted towards art direction; some students are fascinated by the mechanics of the camera; others are musically oriented; film accommodates people with varied talents, and helps you define your particular brand of creativity.
All students will be given participation certificates at the end of the course.
